Description

TxDOT's Yoakum District is hiring a year-round Intern Engineering Support worker in the Victoria Area Office in Victoria, Texas. The student role supports transportation engineering activities including construction and maintenance inspection, laboratory testing, surveying, traffic and accident data collection, drafting, document and records management, spreadsheet and database development, repairs, and related entry-level engineering assignments. Applicants must be enrolled in an engineering or related science degree program, be at least 16, and meet the stated physical, safety, drug-testing, and work-condition requirements.

Additional Information

Minimum Education: Current enrollment in an engineering or related science degree program at an accredited college or university accepted by TX PELS
Preferred Qualifications: At least 16 years old and currently enrolled in high school, higher education, or trade/vocational school
Valid driver's license for employees age 18 or older who may be assigned driving duties or use power tools
Ability to wear required personal protective equipment
Ability to pass a pre-employment physical and meet physical job demands
Ability to pass pre-employment and random drug testing
