Description

Micron Technology is hiring a Systems Performance Engineering Intern to partner with experienced engineers on a defined performance analysis project involving enterprise-class systems, AI, databases, virtualization, and storage workloads. The intern will execute performance validation and benchmarking, collect and analyze telemetry, develop Python-based automation tools, and present technical findings. The role requires current pursuit of a relevant technical degree, coursework in systems-related subjects, Linux experience, and programming experience in Python, C, C++, or a comparable language. The full-time US base salary is $50.24 per hour, with medical, dental, and vision plans available.

Additional Information

Minimum Education: Currently pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field, with an expected graduation date after the internship concludes.
Required Previous Experiences: Completed coursework in operating systems, computer architecture, systems programming, or closely related subjects.
Experience working in Linux environments, including command-line tools, file systems, processes, and basic system administration.
Programming experience in Python, C, C++, or a comparable programming language.
Preferred Qualifications: Academic, personal, or internship experience involving performance measurement, benchmarking, profiling, or systems analysis.
Familiarity with performance analysis tools such as perf, fio, iostat, bpftrace, or language-level profilers.
Knowledge of storage technologies and concepts, including block devices, NVMe, PCIe, or file system internals.
Experience with data analysis and visualization using Python tools such as pandas, matplotlib, or similar libraries.
Exposure to AI workloads, GPU computing environments, databases, virtualization platforms, distributed storage systems, and version control tools such as Git.
