Description
The CEA’s Military Applications Directorate is seeking a five- to six-month internship for a master’s-level candidate to study metal fracture under shock. The role combines numerical modeling and experimental analysis: implementing a micromechanical damage model in a CEA/DAM Lagrangian code, running simulations, and comparing predictions with macroscopic and microscopic fracture observations. The intern will also analyze experimental data from tantalum and adapt image-processing tools to expand the validation database. The position is based in Bruyères-le-Châtel, Essonne, France, and requires Python, numerical modeling, data processing, simulation-experiment comparison, autonomy, scientific curiosity, and a master’s degree.
