American Equity is hiring a Data Engineer Intern for its 10–12-week Launchpad Internship Program in its downtown Des Moines office. The intern will shadow data engineers, learn data transformation, data warehouse concepts, pipeline development, SQL, coding, debugging, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration, and contribute to real project deliverables. The role requires current or upcoming coursework in relevant computer science or information systems fields, Python or object-oriented programming exposure, database concepts, and analytical and communication skills; SQL, Snowflake, Postgres, SQL Server, Git, AWS, data modeling, ETL/ELT, and data governance are preferred.
