The National Library of Medicine is hiring a full-time Senior Security Engineer in Bethesda, Maryland, to work onsite three to five days per week. The role supports the Security Compliance team and the Information Systems Security Office by implementing and automating security controls across on-premises and cloud environments, ensuring FISMA and federal compliance, managing vulnerability and application security, integrating SIEM and AI/ML tools, conducting threat modeling, and providing security guidance to developers and operations teams. The position requires extensive information technology security experience, at least 10 years in securing information technology, strong cloud and systems administration expertise, federal compliance knowledge, and a bachelor’s degree or equivalent technical experience.
