Description
The ITS Network/Systems Administrator manages and supports Harris County’s metropolitan area Ethernet network for traffic control signal operations, including configuring network equipment, maintaining configurations and documentation, troubleshooting performance issues, monitoring networks with SolarWinds, coordinating field technicians and contractors, and supporting users. The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, CCNA training or certification, a valid Texas driver’s license, proof of insurance, and the ability to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential. It requires three years of network operations experience, experience with cellular/LTE systems, and knowledge of layer-2 and layer-3 networking, troubleshooting, fiber optics, and remote access. The position is full-time, typically 40 hours per week, with possible field work and emergency deployment, and offers medical, vision, and dental insurance plus other benefits.
