Citi is hiring a Senior Backend Principal Developer to lead the design, architecture, implementation, and evolution of scalable, secure, and resilient backend services and APIs for an enterprise digital experience platform serving hundreds of thousands of clients and millions of web requests. The role combines hands-on development with technical leadership, including distributed systems, microservices, authentication and authorization, performance engineering, integration design, production troubleshooting, and mentorship. It requires 8–12 years of backend software development experience, strong Java expertise, cloud-native development experience, and a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
