Akraya is hiring a Java Backend Developer for a 12+ month contract with a possible extension, working remotely from Columbia or Costa Rica. The role involves designing and maintaining scalable backend services and REST APIs, building cloud-native microservices, participating in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, implementing automated testing and CI/CD pipelines, and troubleshooting production incidents. Candidates need professional Java backend experience, Spring Boot and microservice expertise, cloud deployment experience, CI/CD and testing knowledge, and Agile/Scrum experience; Python, Kubernetes, infrastructure-as-code, and observability experience are preferred.
