Description

The Java Developer leads the design, development, and implementation of scalable cloud-native backend services using Java, Spring Boot, REST/JSON APIs, and AWS. The role owns architectural decisions, drives engineering excellence through mentoring and continuous improvement, and promotes AI-assisted development. Responsibilities include API design and security reviews, testing strategy, database work, CI/CD, containerized deployment, production incident response, and technical documentation.

Additional Information

Required Previous Experiences: Strong Java backend experience with Spring, Spring Boot, JPA/Hibernate, and microservices or event-driven architecture
Experience with AWS services and message broker technologies
Experience leading API design and documentation standards, security design reviews, and authentication/authorization patterns
Experience defining and driving unit, integration, and automated testing strategies
Proficiency in SQL and relational database concepts, including DDL, DML, and stored procedures
Experience in GitHub-based CI/CD and containerized application packaging and deployment with Docker and Kubernetes
Experience driving architectural improvements, leading production incident response, and owning technical specifications and design documentation
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with API, security, and performance testing tools such as Postman, OWASP ZAP, and JMeter
Experience with observability tooling, structured logging, monitoring, and alerting using CloudWatch, AppDynamics, or Splunk
Experience with PostgreSQL and/or cloud-managed databases such as RDS and Aurora
Experience with Agile/SAFe methodologies and JIRA and Confluence
Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with modern JavaScript framework experience for full-stack collaboration
