The Java Backend Engineer will design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services in a hybrid Warsaw role requiring three days onsite and two days remote. The position focuses on Java and Spring Boot, event-driven solutions with Kafka, cloud-native applications on Kubernetes, GitLab CI/CD, observability, distributed engineering collaboration, and AI-assisted development. Candidates need at least three years of commercial software engineering experience, strong Java backend development experience, knowledge of containerisation and orchestration, and a bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent commercial experience.
