Mactores is hiring an Application Modernization Engineer to lead the refactoring and production cutover of enterprise Java applications during an Oracle-to-PostgreSQL migration. The role focuses on replacing legacy and database-specific SQL, converting embedded SQL in Java services and MyBatis XML mappers, refactoring transaction and ORM logic, validating functional and performance parity, supporting production cutover, and producing engineering documentation. Candidates need a bachelor's degree in a relevant field, at least five years of Java development experience, strong SQL and database-application expertise, and experience with application modernization or large-scale refactoring. PostgreSQL, Aurora PostgreSQL, automated refactoring tools, CI/CD, performance testing, and consulting experience are preferred.
