Interactive Advisors, part of the Interactive Brokers Group, is hiring a Java Engineer for a hands-on role delivering and improving core financial systems. The position involves designing scalable server-side Java services, automating business operations, owning and improving the codebase, collaborating with stakeholders, and reviewing designs and code. Candidates need at least three years of industry experience, strong Java/Linux/server-side development skills, familiarity with databases and agile engineering practices, and a solid understanding of AI concepts such as LLMs, machine learning, prompt engineering, vector embeddings, semantic search, and agentic AI systems. The role is permanently based in a hybrid model, requiring work at the central London office three days per week.
