The Java Team Lead will split their time evenly between hands-on backend development and leading a Java engineering team. The role builds modular, secure, and maintainable backend systems for a data-intensive B2B SaaS platform using Java 21, Spring Boot, and AWS. Responsibilities include developing REST APIs and event-driven services, ensuring CI/CD and production readiness, improving system performance and scalability, mentoring engineers, managing delivery quality, documenting architecture, and coordinating with product, DevOps, and QA. The position is 100% remote and requires 8+ years of Java development experience, 2+ years leading a development team, and extensive Spring Boot, backend systems, database, API, testing, infrastructure, and security experience.
