Description
The Junior Civil Engineering Estimator supports civil engineering contractors by studying tender documents, specifications, and drawings; determining quantities; preparing takeoffs for soil, sand, pipes, and paving; calculating labor, equipment, and construction duration; and developing cost prices for earthworks, sewer systems, and road construction. The role begins with assistance and gradually involves independent estimate preparation, with guidance from experienced estimators and training in estimating and measurement software. It requires an MBO or HBO qualification in a relevant civil engineering or construction field, basic Microsoft Excel knowledge, and a willingness to learn estimating software.
