Description

Plantible Foods is seeking a Junior Scientist - Plant Biology to join their Upstream Cultivation team. This role involves operating and troubleshooting R&D-scale cultivation ponds, designing and executing experiments to improve plant protein quality and biomass productivity, and optimizing nutrient application for optimal duckweed composition. The scientist will also test critical process parameters like raceway flow and assist with data collection and sensor trials to enhance greenhouse conditions.

Additional Information

Required Previous Experiences: 2+ years of industrial research experience
1+ year industrial experience
Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrated experience analyzing plant physiology to optimize crop nutrition and growth parameters.
A passion for continuous improvement, with exceptional attention to detail in experimental execution and data tracking.
Lab experience growing plants and/or using sterile technique as well as experience in protein purification or extraction is also highly desirable.
Excellent verbal/written communication, time management and organizational skills
Ability to thrive in a fast paced & dynamic startup environment as a self-starter
Ability to learn quickly, solve complex problems and have excellent data analysis skills including the recognition of proper controls & statistical analysis.
Creativity & a collaborative partner in teams focused on achieving company goals.
Willingness to travel up to 10-15% of the time to facilitate tech transfer with our commercial protein production facility.
