TuxCare is hiring a fully remote Kernel Developer for the KernelCare Extended Lifecycle Support team. The role investigates upstream Linux kernel security and bug fixes, backports patches to older RPM- and Debian-based distributions, resolves version conflicts, builds reproducible kernel and distribution packages, validates patches through testing and regression analysis, improves workflows with Python, Go, or Shell, and participates in documentation and code review. Candidates need strong C and Linux debugging skills, practical kernel development or backporting experience, Git and GNU build tool proficiency, package-building experience, automation skills, familiarity with agentic or AI-assisted development, and intermediate-or-higher English.
