TuxCare is hiring a fully remote Kernel Developer for its KernelCare Extended Lifecycle Support team. The role involves investigating upstream Linux kernel security and bug fixes, backporting patches to older RPM- and Debian-based distributions, resolving version conflicts, building reproducible kernel packages, validating patches through testing and regression analysis, and improving workflows with Python, Go, or Shell. Candidates need strong C and Linux debugging skills, practical kernel development or backporting experience, Git and GNU build tool proficiency, package-building experience, automation skills, familiarity with agentic or AI-assisted development, intermediate-plus English, and strong technical ownership.
