Description

TuxCare is hiring a fully remote Kernel Developer for the KernelCare Extended Lifecycle Support team. The role investigates upstream Linux security and bug fixes, backports patches to older RPM- and Debian-based kernels, resolves version conflicts, builds reproducible kernel and distribution packages, validates patches through testing and regression analysis, improves workflows with scripting, and reviews and documents technical work. Strong C, Linux kernel development or backporting, Git, GNU build tools, package-building, automation, and AI-assisted development validation skills are required.

Additional Information

Required Previous Experiences: Practical experience in Linux kernel development, patching, or backporting
Experience building Linux kernels or distribution packages

Security patching, CVE analysis, or extended lifecycle maintenance
Docker, QEMU, Jenkins, or other CI systems
