TuxCare is hiring a Kernel Developer for the KernelCare Extended Lifecycle Support team. The role involves investigating upstream Linux kernel security and bug fixes, backporting patches to older RPM- and Debian-based distributions, resolving version conflicts, building reproducible kernel packages, validating patches, improving automation with Python, Go, or Shell, and reviewing and documenting technical work. Candidates need strong C and Linux debugging skills, practical kernel patching or backporting experience, Git and GNU build tool proficiency, package-building experience, automation skills, and familiarity with agentic or AI-assisted development.
