TuxCare is hiring a fully remote Kernel Developer for the KernelCare Extended Lifecycle Support team. The role investigates upstream Linux kernel security and bug fixes, backports patches to older RPM- and Debian-based distributions, builds reproducible kernel and distribution packages, validates patched kernels, and improves workflows using Python, Go, or Shell. Candidates need strong C and Linux debugging skills, practical kernel development or backporting experience, Git and GNU build tool proficiency, package-building experience, automation skills, and some experience with agentic or AI-assisted development.
