Description
The Kettle Crane Operator I operates a Demag 5- or 10-ton overhead bridge crane after steel is dipped in zinc, moving and lowering dipped steel into a water tank, scraping excess zinc, and performing paddling functions to improve galvanizing quality. The role also inspects hooks, chains, crane controls, materials, and equipment; maintains and cleans crane mechanisms; follows safety regulations; and works in a hot, noisy, chemical-exposed environment. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, along with advanced overhead-crane operating capability, one year of relevant experience, an excellent safety record, reliability, and the ability to train other Kettle Crane Operators.
