Description
The Food Service Worker prepares and serves meals in a commercial kitchen for residents in a nursing home, hospital, or assisted living setting. The role includes reviewing menus, assembling supplies, preparing meals, portion control, maintaining sanitation, organizing storage, checking special diets, assisting with special events, reporting equipment and supply needs, and supporting the dietary department when the Food Service Supervisor is absent. A high school diploma or GED and commercial kitchen experience are required; nursing home, hospital, or assisted living experience is preferred. The position requires physical lifting and repetitive work in a residential care environment.
