This role involves following CLIA and California Business and Professions Codes guidelines, ensuring unlicensed personnel operate under direct supervision. Key responsibilities include computer entry, clerical duties, patient interaction, understanding lab terminology, phlebotomy, processing various specimens, managing supplies, and maintaining cleanliness. The assistant may also assist in quality control, troubleshoot instruments, and perform basic laboratory procedures like primary culture inoculations and stain slide preparations.
