Description
The Phlebotomist performs venipuncture, finger sticks, and heel sticks; labels and transports specimens; and completes pre-analytical and post-analytical laboratory testing steps such as bar coding, centrifuging, separating, logging, culturing, and staining bacteriological specimens. The role also includes patient check-in, revenue collection, test-order accessioning, preparation instructions, and professional handling of difficult patients.
