The Laboratory Assistant supports the laboratory by obtaining blood samples through venipuncture or capillary methods, screening and processing specimens, delivering blood products and surgical specimens, handling laboratory-result inquiries, and performing clerical and quality-improvement duties. The role requires high school or equivalent education, specialized phlebotomy training, one year of phlebotomy experience, Microsoft Office skills, communication skills, CPT certification, and fire/life-safety training for Los Angeles City employees. The position pays $23.92-$40.66 per hour.
