Description
Howard University is hiring a one-year Laboratory Technician to maintain laboratory, cell culture, and mouse colony operations and to test and analyze human and mouse specimens. The role reports to Dr. Marina Jerebtsova and supports NIH grant research on kidney disease in sickle cell disease. Responsibilities include ordering supplies, isolating RNA and proteins, performing RT-PCR, Western blot, and immunostaining, organizing results, attending laboratory meetings, and helping prepare IBC, IACUC, and IRB protocols. A B.S. or M.S. in biology, molecular biology, immunology, physiology, or a related field is required; experience with animal handling, human cell cultures, immunohistochemistry, PCR, and Western blot is preferred.
