Howmet Aerospace is hiring a Layout Inspector for its Industrial Gas Turbine group in Hampton, Virginia. The role inspects castings, wax patterns, customer tooling, and precision measurement instruments against blueprints and customer specifications using coordinate measurement machines and dimensional software. Responsibilities include calibrating and repairing gauges, running and correlating CMM programs, troubleshooting CMM equipment, maintaining measurement instruments, and applying blueprint interpretation, geometric tolerancing, and trigonometry. The position offers 2nd-shift work from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m., with 1st-shift training, and pays $25.31 per hour initially, rising to $28.13 per hour after six months, plus a $1.00 per hour shift premium for off shifts. An associate's degree or equivalent education and experience is required, and visa sponsorship is not available.
