Humana is hiring a Lead AI Applied Engineer to provide technical leadership for production AI systems and platforms that process clinical documents, use large language models, and support healthcare decisions. The role owns architecture, high-risk system components, engineering standards, reliability, observability, deployment, incident management, and production operations while remaining hands-on with critical code. It requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience, at least 8 years of software engineering experience, production AI experience, and strong Python or TypeScript/JavaScript skills. The position is hybrid, with three office days per week, and offers a starting base salary of $170,800 to $234,800 per year plus a bonus incentive plan.
