Morgan Stanley is hiring a Java Backend Engineer for its Institutional Securities Technology team, which also serves as a Director-level role developing and maintaining software solutions. The position focuses on building scalable enterprise applications using Java and Spring Boot, with strong requirements for microservices, REST APIs, messaging systems, distributed systems, performance tuning, CI/CD, and production observability. The role also requires hands-on experience integrating LLMs and agentic AI systems, including orchestrator/subagent patterns, tool calling, evaluation workflows, RAG, and vector databases, along with financial services or investment banking experience.
