Appian is hiring a remote Lead Applied AI Engineer in the United States to build and operate production AI systems that reason about enterprise applications. The role covers production agents and orchestration, specification extraction, application intelligence and retrieval, LLM evaluation, AI-assisted software development, performance and reliability engineering, and mentoring junior engineers. Candidates need a bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, 7+ years of relevant software development experience, strong distributed-systems and production-service experience, and demonstrated experience with AI coding assistants. The base salary range is $150,000 to $300,000 USD, with medical, dental, and vision plans among the benefits.
