Blend is hiring a Lead Backend Engineer to design and build scalable Java backend systems, distributed systems, concurrent applications, big-data pipelines, and Kubernetes-managed services. The role includes mentoring engineers, defining APIs and integrations, implementing observability, supporting production deployments, and troubleshooting complex issues. Candidates need at least five years of backend or related engineering experience, strong Java and concurrency expertise, distributed-systems experience, SQL, Apache Spark and Airflow, and Kubernetes knowledge, with advanced English required.
