N26 is hiring a Lead Engineer to join its Intelligent teams and lead the technical scope of internal operations. The role involves architecting and building high-availability web applications, managing product roadmaps, integrating AI and automation systems, optimizing distributed systems, mentoring mid- and senior engineers, and contributing to recruitment and engineering culture. The position requires 5+ years of experience building complex distributed systems in Java or Kotlin with Spring Boot, strong API and backend design skills, PostgreSQL and CI/CD experience, and knowledge of AI coding agents.
