Description
The Backend Lead will own the core backend for a mobile-first social and dating startup, leading 4–5 senior engineers and reporting to the CEO. The role combines hands-on Ruby on Rails development with architectural ownership, performance and reliability improvements, caching and database strategies, AWS infrastructure, API stability, deployments, and production incident response. It is a fully remote B2B contract with a base salary up to $120,000 USD per year, plus seasonal and year-end bonuses, paid vacation, team trips, and access to AI tools.
