Description
The Thin Film Coating Technician operates and maintains thin-film coating and characterization equipment in a demanding production environment. Responsibilities include setting up coating chambers, retrieving designs, monitoring high-volume chambers, determining evaporation layer end points, documenting run data, supporting quality meetings, performing minor maintenance, training technicians, and providing engineering support. The role requires a high school education, strong math or science skills, and preferably eight years of coating or manufacturing experience or a bachelor's or technical degree. The rotating schedule alternates between 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 3 p.m. to 11 p.m., Monday through Friday, every other week, and the position requires work with acids, radioactive materials, and other toxic chemicals.
