Description
The Lead of Coding provides strategic and operational leadership for a health system’s coding program, supporting clinical-data accuracy, reimbursement optimization, documentation quality, regulatory compliance, workflow and resource allocation, and process improvements. The role collaborates with physicians, clinical staff, coding professionals, and health information teams and requires an associate’s degree or equivalent education and experience, a recognized coding or health information credential, at least five years of coding or health information management experience, and knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, MS-DRG/APR-DRG, APC, and coding compliance standards.
