Description

Mactores is hiring a senior Database Migration Engineer to lead end-to-end enterprise database migrations from Oracle and SQL Server to PostgreSQL and Aurora PostgreSQL. The role owns AWS DMS and SCT environments, migration assessments, schema and procedural-code conversion, runbooks, cutover execution, validation, performance and failover testing, and technical leadership. Candidates need 8–12 years of database architecture and migration experience, strong AWS database migration expertise, and hands-on experience converting Oracle PL/SQL and SQL Server T-SQL to PL/pgSQL.

Additional Information

Required Previous Experiences: 8–12 years of professional experience in database architecture and migration delivery
Experience delivering heterogeneous database migrations across on-premises, cloud, and AWS environments
Hands-on experience converting Oracle PL/SQL and SQL Server T-SQL business logic to PL/pgSQL
Preferred Qualifications: Experience tuning production database performance, backup and restore strategies, and failover testing in high-stakes environments
Experience leading migration teams or mentoring engineers through complex conversions
Experience with broader AWS cloud migration programs beyond the database layer
