Description
Cape is hiring a Principal Distributed Systems Engineer to own the architecture and implementation of an edge data distribution system for private 5G bubbles and lead the engineering team building it. The role focuses on reliably, securely, and efficiently synchronizing subscriber state from the cloud to edge nodes, including change propagation, reconciliation, consistency, conflict resolution, and trust boundaries. Responsibilities include technical direction, hands-on engineering, roadmap prioritization, recruiting and developing engineers, and partnering with product, field engineers, and customers. The role requires production distributed-systems experience, event-driven architecture expertise, engineering leadership, and strong communication; preferred experience includes disconnected environments, mobile-edge systems, logical replication, and government or defense customers. Compensation in New York is $250,000-$325,000 plus equity, with medical, dental, and vision premium coverage.
