Description
Xero is hiring a Lead Engineer to lead technical design and implementation across AI and modernization initiatives, including legacy C#/.NET and React code, agentic AI integration, distributed systems, cloud platforms, CI/CD, incident response, and engineering quality. The role also involves mentoring engineers, collaborating cross-functionally, and influencing technical roadmaps. Candidates should have strong C#/.NET or similar object-oriented systems experience, distributed-systems and cloud experience, AI or agentic-AI interest, and a record of pragmatic engineering leadership. The position uses a flexible hybrid model with remote work and in-person collaboration in Sydney, Melbourne, or Brisbane.
