Description
SpaceX is hiring a Lead Engineer, Development Operations (Starlink) in Bastrop to lead the engineering team and own the development-operations engineering stack, including design, design for manufacturability, fixtures, tooling, workholding, mechanical catalog items, CNC and welding processes, build documentation, and handoff to customer programs. The role partners with development supervisors, CNC programmers, machinists, welders, ACE specialists, supply chain, and vendors, and supports development testing. It requires a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or another engineering discipline, at least two years leading a product development, manufacturing engineering, or project team, and at least three years of hands-on mechanical or electromechanical hardware design, analysis, build, or manufacturing experience. The position is hands-on, may require weekends and extended hours, and may involve occasional travel to other SpaceX sites.
