Description
The Lead Firefighter, GS-0081-08, leads a crew of three or more firefighters operating major motorized firefighting equipment such as pumpers, aerial ladder trucks, or Airport Rescue Fire Fighting vehicles. The role performs airfield and structural firefighting and rescue operations, crash and rescue duties, hazardous materials containment, basic life support, emergency rescue, and equipment maintenance. Applicants must be U.S. citizens, maintain a Secret security clearance, hold required firefighter and emergency medical certifications, and meet specialized experience and time-in-grade requirements.
