Description

Sabi is hiring a Firmware Engineer to architect and own the firmware for a distributed-compute wearable platform. The role covers RTOS and bare-metal ARM Cortex-M firmware, multi-MCU orchestration, media and connectivity pipelines, low-power always-on firmware, time synchronization, firmware engineering practices, ASIC bring-up, and field debugging. The engineer will report to the Head of Hardware, partner with EE, audio, camera, AI/ML, and reliability leads, and lead the firmware team as the product scales to production.

Additional Information

Required Previous Experiences: 10+ years of embedded firmware engineering
At least one shipped consumer product with end-to-end firmware architecture ownership
Deep expertise across embedded RTOSes and bare-metal ARM Cortex-M
Experience hosting real-time DSP runtimes with wireless connectivity on resource-constrained MCUs
Experience with multi-radio coexistence, low-power state-machine design, and OTA with safe rollback
Experience using JTAG/SWD, logic analyzers, and protocol sniffers for bring-up
Preferred Qualifications: Neural network inference on low-power MCUs or AI accelerators
On-device inference frameworks and edge AI runtimes
Custom AI accelerator, neuromorphic, or in-memory-compute platforms
On-device wake-word or always-on voice activation engines
Biopotential acquisition over standard sensor buses
