Description
ELCA is hiring a Lead Java Engineer to design and implement scalable Java solutions for complex client systems, make architecture and design decisions, advise clients, support development teams as a technical sparring partner, and contribute to tenders and modern engineering approaches including AI-assisted development. The role involves agile delivery with Scrum or SAFe and may be based on-site with clients or at ELCA’s Zurich or Bern offices, with possible home office. Candidates need a computer science or related degree, 7+ years of Java analysis/design/development experience, at least 2 years of technical leadership, strong Spring and microservices expertise, API and legacy-system integration experience, database and SQL skills, CI/CD, containerization, cloud, AI-assisted development, and fluent German and English.
