Thermo Fisher Scientific is hiring a Staff Engineer, Software, also described as a Lead Java Engineer, to provide technical leadership and architectural guidance for scalable, secure, high-performance backend systems. The role involves designing and developing Java and Spring Boot applications, RESTful APIs, database models, integrations, reusable components, and enterprise services; mentoring engineers; and improving testing, CI/CD, deployment, and observability practices. The position requires 12–15 years of software development experience, a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant discipline, and strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, backend services, databases, and software engineering practices.
