Amazon LEO is hiring a Lead Manufacturing Engineer to lead a team of 8–10 manufacturing engineers responsible for developing, building, qualifying, and scaling optical metrology stations for optical intersatellite link systems. The role combines shop-floor production development, technical problem solving, measurement-process improvement, and mentorship, with responsibilities spanning optical testing, laser and detector characterization, geometric optics, and scalable manufacturing. Candidates need at least five years of full product life-cycle experience and expertise in optical metrology, lasers, detectors, modulators, optical fiber, and related testing and characterization. The position is based in Redmond, Washington, with a base salary of $137,300 to $185,700 annually.
