L3Harris is hiring a Lead Mechanical Engineer for Composite Case Design in Huntsville, Alabama. The role leads the design of filament-wound composite cases for solid-propulsion and controllable-solid systems, including 3D modeling, detailed drawings, trade studies, specifications, technical reviews, risk reduction, testing support, and supplier coordination. The position requires substantial expertise in carbon-fiber epoxy materials, pressure-vessel design, filament winding, and classical lamination theory, along with the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance. A bachelor’s degree and at least nine years of relevant experience are required, or a graduate degree with seven years, or no degree with thirteen years of related experience.
