Shield AI is hiring a Lead Mechanical Engineer, Hardware Test to lead the design, development, validation, and maintenance of mechanical test infrastructure for X-BAT autonomous aircraft hardware. The role owns test stands, fixtures, tooling, structural support, and mechanical systems; performs mechanical analysis; leads a small team; and coordinates with test, electrical, avionics, manufacturing, and technician teams. Candidates need a mechanical engineering or related STEM degree, senior or lead mechanical engineering experience in aerospace, defense, robotics, or complex hardware, team leadership experience, CAD proficiency, and familiarity with mechanical engineering practices.
