Description
Rainmaker is hiring a Mechanical Engineering Manager to lead a team of mechanical engineers while also owning hardware from concept through production. The role manages performance reviews, resource allocation, hiring, and team scaling; collaborates with electrical, manufacturing, production, and test teams; and owns subsystems such as UAS structures, dispersion payloads, and field infrastructure. Responsibilities include setting design standards, reviewing FEA and CAD work, prototyping, designing test fixtures, preparing fabrication and assembly data, and making technical trade-off decisions. The role requires at least seven years of mechanical engineering experience in hardware development, a bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience, prior engineering-management experience, and expertise in parametric CAD, FEA, rapid prototyping, composites, sheet metal, molded polymers, and ceramic components.
