The Orange County Sanitation District is hiring two full-time Lead Plant Operators to lead, oversee, and participate in complex wastewater treatment plant operations, advanced monitoring, maintenance, and construction-related outages. The role includes providing training and field direction, developing outage and lockout/tagout procedures, coordinating shutdown activities, and potentially serving as a shift supervisor. Applicants need a high school diploma or GED, five years of increasingly responsible wastewater treatment plant operations experience, a valid Grade IV California Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator Certificate, and a valid California Class C Driver's License. The position pays $60.51–$66.72 per hour and requires physical work in plant and field environments, including confined-space entry.
