Description

Oracle is hiring a Lead Principal Platform Software Engineer to provide hands-on technical leadership for scalable platform capabilities used by OCI engineering teams. The role focuses on architecting and building distributed systems, services, APIs, developer tools, CI/CD, infrastructure, and user-facing experiences, while establishing engineering patterns and AI-native development practices. The engineer will also mentor senior engineers, solve complex operational problems, and shape technical strategy for AI and agentic systems. The position requires a BS or MS in Computer Science or a related field, at least 10 years of professional software development experience, strong programming and distributed-systems expertise, and practical experience with AI-assisted development.

Additional Information

Minimum Education: BS or MS in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
Required Previous Experiences: 10+ years of professional software development experience
Deep experience designing, building, and operating large-scale distributed systems and services
Experience delivering complex systems across the full software development lifecycle
Experience architecting highly available, scalable, and maintainable systems spanning multiple services or components
Experience operating mission-critical production services and troubleshooting complex system problems
Technical leadership across engineers and teams without direct management authority
Practical experience applying AI-assisted development techniques and validating AI-generated code, tests, designs, or analysis
Preferred Qualifications: Technical leadership experience with large-scale cloud services, developer platforms, or engineering productivity systems
Experience developing and operating services on OCI, AWS, Azure, or another public cloud

Strong Linux, networking, SQL, and NoSQL knowledge
Experience building AI-enabled developer tools, coding agents, agentic workflows, or other AI-assisted engineering systems
Experience establishing technical practices adopted across multiple teams
Experience mentoring senior engineers, developing technical leaders, and raising the engineering talent bar
