Description

Hologic is hiring a Lead Engineer, AI Applications to lead the identification, evaluation, and integration of artificial intelligence and computer vision capabilities across its GYN surgical capital platforms. The role partners with R&D, clinical, regulatory, quality, marketing, business development, legal, and procurement teams; manages external AI and imaging vendors; defines technical and data requirements; supports FDA and design-control compliance; and mentors engineering staff. The position requires a bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field, at least eight years of medical-device or medical-imaging engineering experience, and at least three years of AI or computer vision experience. The annualized base salary range is $128,200 to $200,500, with bonus eligibility.

Additional Information

Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related technical field
Required Previous Experiences: At least 8 years of engineering experience in medical devices, medical imaging, or a comparable FDA-regulated industry
At least 3 years of direct experience developing, evaluating, or integrating AI or computer vision technologies
Experience managing external technology vendors or development partners through evaluation, contracting, and delivery
Experience working within a design controls environment and with FDA regulatory pathways, including 510(k) and De Novo
Experience presenting technical recommendations to senior leadership
Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree or PhD
Experience with ultrasound, endoscopy, or other intra-procedural imaging modalities
Direct involvement in a regulatory submission for an AI- or ML-enabled device feature
Experience with clinical data collection, annotation workflows, and dataset management
Familiarity with real-time or embedded imaging system architectures
Working knowledge of IEC 62304, ISO 14971, IEC 60601, and FDA Good Machine Learning Practice principles
